A seasoned marketing professional with experience in a variety of roles, Chris is always seeking opportunities, for clients as well as himself. After starting out with a regional ad agency and then running his own graphic design company, Chris went on to work at one of the nations largest printers of financial and security documents. Most recently, he was vice president for one of the largest automotive dealer groups in the United States. Additionally, he is a founding partner of two investment companies, one focused on real estate and another on small businesses.

Throughout his career Chris has served on a half dozen non-profit boards, including stints as chairman, treasurer and secretary. As chairman of Mission Road Developmental Center, Chris recruited and hired a replacement for a CEO retiring after 30 years and directed the conversion of an employee defined benefits plan into a defined contribution plan. He has also mentored at a local school district for several years.

Chris taught elementary school, a career break that allowed time for a position as epigrapher on a long-term project to document the edifice of Amenhotep II in Karnak, Egypt. This experience ultimately led to the publication of his first novel, Lifting Heaven, the Twilight of the Gods in Ancient Egypt. He is a competitive fencer with foil and saber and has published several articles on the history of swordplay. Chris speaks regularly at secondary schools and universities about marketing, Ancient Egypt and the history of fencing.

Based on twenty-plus years of experience integrating technology into marketing, branding and publishing environments, Rob is constantly seeking new ways to facilitate business efficiencies in traditional communication processes through improved customer relationship management, project management and creativity. Additionally, Rob’s technical expertise in the communications industry has allowed him to quickly and competitively position his clients effectively within the ever-changing Internet landscape.

After graduating in less than three years from Auburn University with an Economics degree, Rob started his career as a consultant in the publishing industry and as a speaker at a series of computer seminars. As a pioneer in the desktop publishing revolution, he was instrumental in producing one of the first major direct mail catalogs produced entirely on a Macintosh. Over the years, his clients have included Bass Pro Shops, Gander Mountain, Haas Publishing Corporation (The Apartment Guide), USAA, Harland Clarke, Rush Enterprises, San Antonio Museum of Art, AT&T Cotton Bowl and The Ford Motor Company Fund.

Toolbox Studios, Inc., a communication design firm founded by Rob in 1996, has grown to one of the largest creative agencies in San Antonio and has received numerous national awards for work in the areas of youth marketing, food and beverage, financial services and corporate branding. The creative firm operates using a proprietary project management system developed by Rob that allows the design team more time to focus on creative communication solutions for clients. As a leader in emerging Internet-based technologies, Toolbox was selected by Goldline Research, an independent third-party research firm, as one of the “Top 10 Most Dependable Web Design Firms of Texas” as listed in Texas Monthly (February 2007).

Rob is very active in the local community and is currently the incoming president for the San Antonio chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO). He was selected in 2007 by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of San Antonio’s “40 Under 40” for his contributions to the design industry and community. He has also served on the board of directors for the Communication Arts Society of San Antonio, the Downtown Alliance of San Antonio, the Downtown Residents Association and the host committee for the U.S. Golf Association’s 2001 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Oak Hill’s Country Club.
